Yesica Duarte, an argentinian new media artist, VR developer and immersive art researcher, based between Buenos Aires and Montreal. Her work is focuses on the relationship between the Body and Virtual Reality (VR,) in how this media affect perception, self-awareness and learning. She explore the place that ubiquitous technologies give to the human being as a user, through the experimentation of the immersive language of VR and the integration of the interface on the human body.
Her background is in audiovisual production and specialized in VideoFX and sound technician. She graduated in Master in Technology and Aesthetics of Electronic Arts and began to develop interactive installations by programming microcontrollers. Is part of the Laboratoire d'art et de recherche Décoloniaux at UQAM, and Audiovisual Research and Experimentation Laboratory at UnTref, Argentina.
She believes in the body as an expressive communication device and that human evolution is tied to symbiosis with technology.
